The real difference is SCOPE. In the NCLEX world the practical nurse COLLECTS DATA rather than performing the initial assessment, CONTRIBUTES TO the plan of care rather than writing it, REINFORCES teaching the RN already gave, MONITORS clients, including those receiving IV therapy and blood products, and REPORTS changes to the RN or the provider. IV items are framed around the site, the rate, spotting a complication, stopping what harms the client and reporting. For a PN student, this app's priority, delegation, safety, pharmacology, dosage, lab and Next Gen lessons apply as written; in the Management of Care lessons, read 'write the plan' as 'contribute to it' and 'teach' as 'reinforce'. The NCLEX-PN is used for US licensure only.
